Welcome 2012, farewell 2011!

We hope you all had a great Christmas/New Year.

Tamborine Mountain was blessed with fairly good weather for the Festive Season and our Visitors had plenty of activities to keep them occupied. December has been mild with temperatures staying below average, very pleasant for exploring our National Parks and other attractions.

If you have not been to Tamborine Mountain for a while, why not come up for a midweek or weekend stay during January? We have very attractive packages available (please call +61 7 5545 3595 for full details), and Tamborine Mountain is at its best.

We have had a number of new Restaurants and Coffee Shops open in the last few weeks and they complement the existing eateries very well.

Our handy Gift Vouchers are well worthwhile if you have missed someone’s present. We are happy to work with you to tailor a Gift Voucher to suit your specific requirements.

Scarecrow Festival Tamborine Mountain

Held every year on Mt Tamborine over a full weekend, this fun packed festival allows visitors and locals alike to explore the ‘Scarecrow Trail’ around the mountain and discover the many artistic scarecrows created by the folks on Mount Tamborine.

The festival and fun atmosphere is maintained with musicians and other performing artists to entertain you. There are many food and drink ‘opportunities’ to ensure that you do not go hungry or thirsty as well as all the variety of attractions of Tamborine Mountain.

November was a very busy month on Tamborine Mountain, with the very successful ‘Tour de Tamborine’ event being held with a large number of competitors and spectators enjoying themselves.

Our weather is quite mild for this time of the year so if you are visiting remember to bring some warm clothes for the time being. Summer weather will be with us soon enough. Great time though at present to enjoy walking in the National Parks and seeing the many natural attractions the mountain has to offer.

We still have a few vacancies over the Christmas and New Year period. Why not get away, leave the kids and your worries behind and come and relax with us on beautiful Tamborine Mountain.

Our Gift Vouchers make great Christmas presents and we are happy to do one night vouchers if requested. Our Gift Vouchers start at $150.00 for a one night midweek stay including breakfast or we can add wine, chocolates, tours etc at cost to satisfy any requirements.

If you wish to make a group or family booking for our four rooms for two nights, we can offer you dinner in the Dining Room on one of those nights.

Experience Witches Chase Cheesemaking on Mt Tamborine

Join Witches Chase Cheese Company in the Art of Cheese making with our head cheese maker Adam Papprill. Adam will introduce you to the world of cheese making by taking you through the general principles of learning to make Tamembert or Triple Cream Brie. This is a hands on course where YOU will be the cheese maker!

Adam has been head cheese maker at Witches Chase Cheese Co for 4 years. His cheeses have been awarded numerous medals with the most recently “Best Cheese in Queensland 2011″ for the Labor Intensive Washed Rind.

Carol Willman from Cheeselinks and author of “Home Cheesemaking” will also be on hand to guide and assist. Carol has over 30 years experience in the “Cheesey Business” and is author Home Cheesemaking.

Puccini – The Passion and the Power – Dinner and Concert

Saturday 19th November, Eagle’s Nest comes alive to the music one of the most popular opera composers of all time. Giaccmo Puccini was an Italian composer whose operas, including La boheme, Tosca, Madama Butterfly and Turandot, are among the most frequently performed in the standard repertoire. Some of his arias, such as ‘O Mio Mabbino Caro’ from Gianni Shicchi, “Che Geli da Manina” from La boheme, and “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot, have become part of popular culture.

Puccini was deservedly the leading operatic composer of his day – a period which was particularly rich in Opera, Operatta and Song. Tenor Glenn Lorimer makes a welcome return to Eagle’s Nest, joining Tania in presenting pot pourri of Songs, Arias and Duets from Puccini and his contemporaries including Verdi, Catalani, Ponchie1li, Tchaikovsky, Delibes and more.

Sit back with a good dinner, glass of wine, and good company, to be serenaded by the romantic and uplifting music of Puccini and his contemporaries in the unique setting of Eagle’s Nest, overlooking the stunning lights of the Gold Coast – experience the Passion and the Power.

Saturday, 19th November, 2011 – 6.45 for 7.00pm. $65 pp, includes 3 course set menu and concert. Eagle’s Nest is BYO, please note there are no card facilities and please advise of special dietary requirements at time of booking.

What a great Scarecrow Festival on Tamborine Mountain a couple of weeks ago. Over 200 Scarecrows scattered over the 14 kilometre trail. Better Homes and Gardens filmed a segment on the Scarecrow Festival and it will be shown on National TV on Friday 11th November.

Later this month on Sunday 20th November is the annual Tour de Tamborine premier charity sporting event. Now in its 7th year, Tour de Tamborine provides an amazing cycle, run / walk event, catering to over 1000 people and large crowds are expected.

Why not make a weekend of it? We have a couple of vacancies on the weekend if you are participating or just planning to be a spectator or a support to someone else competing.

Eagle’s Nest Opera is having an operatic concert on Saturday 19th November featuring music from Puccini. Cost including three course dinner is just $65.00 per person. As Tamborine Mountain B&B is a short walk from Eagle’s Nest Opera why not book a room, take in the Opera on Saturday night and on Sunday join in the fun of the Tour de Tamborine.

What a great start to October!! Last weekend the Springtime On The Mountain ‘Open Gardens’, this weekend the Craft Market at the Vonda Youngman Centre in Main Street, and the following weekend is the iconic Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival.

You are never bored on Tamborine Mountain. There are always things to do and see, natural beauty, the walks in the National Parks, and man-made attractions such as the Skywalk and the Glow worm Cave.

Our Brewery, Distillery and Wineries are always popular, and the restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops and galleries are worth coming to Tamborine Mountain to sample.

So what are you waiting for, come and stay for a night or two, unwind, relax and recharge the batteries.

Spring has sprung!!

Tamborine Mountain is looking luscious! Some rain and warmer days have brought new growth on the trees and across the gardens with a wild assortment of colour. The clivias especially are having a great year including ours.

This is a lovely time to get away to Tamborine Mountain for a short break. The days are beautiful and the nights are still cool enough to enjoy sitting in front of a fire with a good book, and/or a glass of local Tamborine Mountain red.

What perfect weather the Mountain has had in July, cold nights and mainly beautiful days!! The forecast for August is looking much the same.

Why would you short break anywhere else? Lovely walking weather, great food and wine as well as interesting galleries and specialty shops.

The restaurants on the Mountain are numerous and varied, with cuisine to suit all palates, from Asian to European style menus.

The lack of rain has meant a browner Mountain than we have had for sometime and some rain is overdue. Most of the deciduous trees have lost their leaves and we are waiting for the warmth of spring to get new colour in the foliage.

Our Bed and Breakfast has been very busy with guests making return visits and an increasing number of overseas visitors staying with us. To see some guest comments please view the Tripadvisor section in the sidebar on our home page or peruse the many guest testimonials on our testimonials page.
